Privacy
This page describes what the weSpy website itself does with information about you. It is written from what the site's code does today.
What this website does not do
- No cookies. The site's pages and scripts do not set cookies.
- No analytics or tracking. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts on the site.
- No third-party content loaded automatically. Fonts, images, scripts and data are all served from this website, not from other companies.
- No forms. There are no forms on the site, and it does not ask you for any personal details.
- Nothing stored in your browser. The site does not use your browser's storage to remember you.
What happens when you use the site
- Your browser downloads the pages, images, fonts and a small list of our stories from this website, as with any website.
- Links to X. "Follow", "Message @wespyhq" and "Share on X" are ordinary links. Nothing is sent to X unless you click one. "Share on X" opens X with the story's title and link already filled in; you decide whether to post it. Once you are on X, its own privacy policy applies.
- "Copy link" puts the story's address on your device's clipboard. It does not send it anywhere.
- Data downloads. Some stories let you download the data behind them. That is an ordinary file from this website.
Hosting and server logs. The company that hosts this website may automatically record technical information when pages are requested, such as IP addresses, browser type and the pages visited. Which company hosts the site, what it records and how long it keeps it have not yet been confirmed.
When you contact us
At the moment the way to contact us is a direct message on X. If you message us, we receive what you send and the details X shows us about your account. X handles those messages under its own terms and privacy policy. Please read our advice on staying safe before sending anything sensitive.
Tips and messages. Who at weSpy can see messages, how long they are kept, and how someone can ask for theirs to be deleted.
Who is responsible. The name of the person or organisation responsible for this website and for personal information, and how to contact them about privacy.
Changes to this page
If the site starts collecting anything new, for example through an email address or a tip-off form, this page should be updated before that goes live.
